Probably something to do with being created in an old version of DX, or some incompatible plug in, like DXToys. Open the .dxtheme with winzip and take out anything that looks like an old plug in, and then see if it will run.

If you want to send the theme to me, I'll look at it for ya. I have backups of a couple older versions of DX and might be able to load your theme.

Ok, I found out what the problem object was. Loaded it into the lastest DX and sure enough, crash! Fired up an older copy of DX and exported the objects one at a time. Loaded the latest DX bringing the objects in one at a time until DX crashed. After I figured out what object was causing the problem I sent a copy of it to PJPowell and he figured out why it was making DX crash and we got it fixed.

I emailed you the repaired theme which should load into the new DX fine. Thanks to PJ for helping out once again.

Just to make it clear, DWM did all the hard and time consuming work of tracking down the object with the bug and exporting it. All I did was look at the ini for that object and notice a class id I didn't recognise. My part of it took about 5 seconds, his took minutes.
