I once had a company offer to brick-clad my parent's house [where I was living at the time][brick-cladding is a fake 'clay' facing glued to sheets of asbestos-cement that on a really drunken night just might be mistaken for the real thing]....and I told them that I certainly was not about to demolish a genuine brick structure just so I could have their fake cancer-inducing [asbestosis] crap nailed on...

China....no...the 'asbestosis' is fatal, just like anywhere...but back then, the cement sheeting was reinforced with a wonderful insulating fibre called asbestos....and no-one really new its dangers...

Asbestos Shingles were really big sellers here in the South States back in the 50's also up in Maine. Can you imagine that there are still Cracker houses here in Florida with them still hanging on the side. You can not install it new, but it seems they can not force you to remove it either...
